Death Gate

The 'Death Gate' EP which I received in the mail today excited me ever so much. It is the second solo EP from the Gaslamp Killer released on the Brainfeeder label, from a man who has an abundance of talent in the field of music production. The Death Gate EP (featuring collaborations with Gonjasufi, Computer Jay, and Mophono) is a great blend of music, typical of the Gaslamp Killer's style, fusing abstract electronica, along with elements of psychedelic hip hop and rock.

I think I got my copy of the limited 10" a little early as its not due to be released until the 12th of October but I'm not complaining.. the 10" contains roughly 15 minutes of material, and at this early stage of listening the collaboration with Computer Jay 'Shattering Inner Journeys' stands out to me the most.

On a side note, the Gaslamp Killer will be touring Australia and NZ with Flying Lotus and Hudson Mohawke over New Years and early January. Those of us in Adelaide will miss out on the tour unless we travel interstate.. and I sure as hell know I'll be flying out of here to see them.
